5 Easy Ways To Follow God

What if God showed you easy ways to follow Him? Would you be willing to pursue Him? I believe God wants to make life so much simpler for you. When you understand His heart for you, you will WANT to follow God. It starts with understanding WHY God wants to lead you in the first place. Let’s take a look at 5 easy ways to follow God.

1. Knowing Why God Wants You To Follow Him

If you are going to follow anyone’s leads, you need to know their motives. The key is to know God’s heart for you. God loves you so much and He wants you to experience His best. But the only way you are going to fulfill your destiny in life is to allow God to lead the way.

I believe there are easy ways to follow God, but you need to know His reasons for you to pursue Him. You were created with a desire to KNOW God. One way to know Him is to study WHO He is in the Scriptures. You will discover that you will go after Him because He loves you, He provides for you and He protects you. I encourage you to do an in-depth study of the Scriptures to know God’s heart so you can willingly follow His lead.

2. Listen For God’s Leading

God knows where you are going in life. In order for you to know where He wants you to go, you MUST listen to His still, small voice on the inside of your heart. Notice I did NOT say in your head. I remember a few months ago the Lord told me, “Get out of your head.” He wanted me to focus on what He was saying to me in my heart.

Have you ever taken a close look at the word HEART?

The first four letters spell HEAR. But in the center of the word Heart is EAR. Now you know where you need to listen to God so you can hear Him leading you. The good news is that God created you to listen and hear His voice. Jesus tells us in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, I know them and they Follow Me.” WHEN you chose to listen, you WILL hear God.

3. Surrendering To God Is Easy When You Know How

I’m sure you are thinking that surrendering is very difficult to do. Have you ever thought about how God originally designed you? He created you to trust Him with ALL your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. How do you do that?

It really comes down to you making a choice. You make choices every day, so this is nothing new to you. If you truly want to follow Him, then you simply chose to surrender to God. That means God’s way and not your way anymore. Remember God made you a willing, surrendered creation of His, and He will help you surrender all to Him when you ask Him.

4. Learning To Obey God

How can you follow God if you are not willing to obey Him? Again He knows where He is leading you, but it takes a willingness to learn how to OBEY God. Honestly, it’s much better for you to obey God than disobey Him. When you know His heart for you is only GOOD, then you will be more willing to obey His leading and follow God.

I encourage you to study the Bible and find out what God is leading you to do. He has so many practical life lessons you can learn from when you are willing to obey Him. One of my favorite books in the Bible is the book of Proverbs. This book has so much Wisdom in it and will answer a lot of your questions.

5. Remembering God’s Faithfulness

I’m sure you can look back over your life and see where God has been faithful. God’s faithfulness is for every generation. The Lord is also trustworthy. He is the ONLY One you can truly trust at all times. God is loyal, steadfast, and dedicated to you.

One evening the Lord spoke to me in my despair and what He said at that moment brought me to tears. At the time I was really struggling to discover my purpose in life. I was wavering and questioning Him so much. Then He said this to me, “Jeffrey, I am ALL in.” I burst out in tears. Why did that mean so much to me?

The Lord God Almighty, Our Creator was reassuring me of His commitment to me. He wasn’t going anywhere. He was 100% in and I will always remember those heart-piercing words that change my life forever. You must believe He is 100% committed to you too.
