3 Revealing Ways To Meet With God Through Journaling
June 16, 2022 7:01 pmSince 2010 I have been journaling with God and have over 15, 000 pages in my journal. I’m going to show you 3 revealing ways to meet with God through journaling.
Before I share with you what you can do to hear God more clearly in your journal, it’s important for you to know that you really do hear God’s voice. In John 10:27, Jesus says, “My sheep hear My voice, I know them and they follow Me.”
When you BELIEVE you hear God’s voice, then you will KNOW you’ll meet with God every time your journal with Him. So believe you are hearing God’s voice through journaling, and your relationship with Him will grow stronger.
Are you seeking encounters with God?
The more you journal with God, the more you have encounters with Him. He will speak so clearly, that you will know that you know, it is God’s voice. Let’s discover 3 revealing ways to meet God through journaling every time you journal with Him.
Focus on God’s Voice
It is best for you to lay aside all distractions so you can hear His still, small voice in your heart. Imagine meeting with God face to face. Wouldn’t you give Him your full attention? Of course, you would.
Whether you choose to hand write in a journal or type on a computer, make sure you remove the distractions from your eyes and ears. Your goal is to totally focus on what God is saying to you as you encounter Him in your journal.
How do you feel when you are having a conversation with someone and they are looking at their phone?
Think about that when you journal with God. As you invest time journaling with Him, make it one of the best investments of time each day. You won’t regret it.
Remember, you do hear His voice when you LISTEN. Simply write or type what you believe God is saying to you. Don’t question it as you meet with Him when you journal, just believe you hear God’s voice.
Ask God Questions
The best way to get to know anyone intimately is to ask a lot of questions. There may be times you meet with God and you have so many questions to ask Him.
Over the years, I’ve discovered the BEST QUESTIONS to ask God are the ones He wants us to ask Him.
In other words, ask God what He wants you to ask Him. Listen and then write down those questions. Next, ask Him those specific questions and listen for HIS answers. I emphasize HIS answers because typically we THINK we know his response to our questions.
Now He may answer your question immediately or it may take time. Many people have asked me over the years about when they don’t hear God’s answers. I’ve learned that sometimes He may not answer us because He has already told us the answer in the past.
So, if you do not hear an answer from God, then ask Him if He already gave you the answer. If He tells you He did, then ask Him to remind you of His answer.
Also, He may be waiting on the right time to give you His answer. That is where patience comes into play. It’s possible certain events have not happened yet, so He’s waiting for that to happen. It’s also possible He is waiting for certain people to come into your life and then you’ll hear His answer.
Be Consistent Journaling With God
One of the greatest investments you’ll ever make is meeting with God every day. If you truly want to grow in your relationship with God, it is best to make a commitment to meet with God through journaling.
I promise you, that He looks forward to meeting with you as you journal with God. I’m sure if God could choose, He would love for you to journal every day with Him. He also knows your schedule each week, month, and year, so ask Him when HE wants you to meet with Him in your journal.
Hopefully, you are in a committed relationship with God. It takes consistency in having a closer relationship with God. The more consistent you are, the better.
Your relationship will never be the same as you journal with God. I know from experience how God loves journaling. Our students testify of how they meet with God in their journals. In fact, they say it’s one of the best ways they hear God’s voice.
Now that you know the 3 ways to meet God through journaling will you, Focus on God’s voice, Ask God questions, and Be consistent journaling with God?
