Did you know the voices you hear can influence the direction of your life? Our guest contributor, Tim Winders, is one of our A Transforming Word Ministries board members.  He shares with us the significance of listening to the voice of wisdom. 

What Voices Do You Hear?

It seems like a simple question. As followers of Christ, we would like to say that we hear God’s voice and that we ONLY hear God’s voice.

But if we are truthful with ourselves we know that we listen to many voices. Some of those voices are harmless and trivial. Some lead to life and life that is abundant. But there are voices that attempt to deceive and fool us. They lead us down a path of destruction and death.

We are overloaded with information every single day. Some of that information is valuable and useful to us. But much of the information is false…or dare I say FAKE and we can easily be deceived.

Years ago I started repeating the statement – “Thou shall not fool thyself”. 

It sounds like it could come from the Bible but I do not think it is directly from scripture. It really just serves as a reminder to me that I need to be seeking wisdom, not foolishness.

How do we seek wisdom while avoiding foolishness?

Are You Listening To Wisdom?

We listen to the voice of wisdom.

And wisdom originates from one source – our creator God. There may be many avenues through that He can get His wisdom to us. But we must always be confident that it is possible for us to connect with Him and receive His wisdom.

He wants to share His wisdom with you. And in this world of foolishness and deception, wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore we must seek wisdom.

Be still and quiet. Listen. Read His word. Write down what He says to you. Say it out loud. Allow His voice to dominate the foolish voices that are attempting to occupy space in your head.

You can hear His voice and live a life full of wisdom.
