5 Reasons Why You’re NOT Hearing God’s Voice

You can hear God speak to you about what is going to happen in your life. How is that possible? Today you are going to discover 5 reasons why you’re NOT hearing God’s voice.

Jesus tells you the TRUTH in John 10:27, “My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me.” Are you HIS sheep? If so, say, “Baa!” SINCE you are His sheep then you HEAR His voice.

But what if there are times you don’t?

You are not alone. Many have never learned how simple and easy it is to hear God speak to them at ANY TIME. Imagine if you were able to hear God at all times. How would that change your life?

Here are 5 reasons why you’re NOT hearing God’s voice:

1. God has ALREADY answered you

If you have asked God a question, it is most likely He answered you. But many times, we allow doubt, wavering, and uncertainty to creep in and then we choose not to believe what God spoke to us.

Next time you ask God a question and you are NOT hearing anything, ask Him if He has already answered your question. If He says, “Yes”, then ask Him to REMIND you of His answer.

2. It’s not the RIGHT TIME

You have to remember that God’s timing is much better than yours. He knows the exact SECOND He wants you to know something you have asked Him. Be patient with Him. 

It’s possible He is waiting for someone to come into your life before He answers your question. It’s also possible He is working on your character and removing things in your heart that are NOT His will for your life.

3. God wants you to BE with Him

This is a lesson I learned a few years ago, that has really helped me draw closer and have a more intimate relationship with Him. One time I asked God why He was not talking with me. His answer surprised me.

He said, “Jeffrey, I just want you to BE with Me.” 

We call these our “BE Moments”. 

What’s that?

It’s our time of NOT talking with each other. We simply enjoy being with each other. That’s it. So when He is quiet, ask Him if it’s a “Be Moment”.

4. Asking questions He won’t answer

There are certain things in your life God does not want you to know. It’s that plain and simple. Personally, I have asked the Lord about childhood trauma that He said He will never reveal to me. Why? I don’t need to know it.

You may be asking Him the same questions again and again that He is not answering. Next time, ask Him if this is one you don’t need to know the answer to. 

5. You don’t BELIEVE you hear God’s voice

This is one of the BIGGEST LIES you could ever believe in your life. Why would God create you to have a personal relationship and not give you the opportunity to hear His voice?

Reject this lie and replace it with the Truth. You have the ability to hear God speak to you personally. WHEN you believe this Truth, then you can EXPECT to hear His still, small voice in your heart. Isn’t that where He lives, is in your heart, not your head?  (HINT)
