How does God test youI know how it feels to go through a test from God. It can feel like the most challenging endeavour of my life, but I know God is faithful. He has a reason for us to go through a test and He wants us to do it HIS WAY. So how does God test you? Lets look at 5 ways God can help you pass your tests.

Responding or Reacting Test

Recently I was convicted when I was listening to a message on how we choose to respond to a certain situation in our lives. While I was pondering what was said, I realized I did not respond in a way to a couple of situations where I got hurt. It made me realize I failed the tests. How so?

Years ago I was listening to Zig Ziglar, one of the most inspirational speakers of our time, talk about the difference between responding and reacting. He said, “It’s not the situation, but whether we react negative or respond positive to the situation that is important.” We get to choose to react negatively or respond positively.

Zig then gave an example about how medication can have a positive response to our bodies or a negative reaction. So in my case, I chose to have a negative reaction to my test that God revealed to me. Needless to say, I did not feel very loving at the time, but it did give me a life lesson.

Patient Test

I believe God can test us with our willingness to be patient. He knows what is best for us and He wants us to pass this Patience Test. The only way I have found how to pass this test is asking God for help. He reminds me He has been very patient with me. God simply wants us to be patient with Him, but how?

You can chose to be patient or impatient. The choice is up to you. But there are times in our lives where the tests we are facing seem so overwhelming for us. But nothing is ever too overwhelming for the Lord. I believe the Patient Test is setting us up for God’s best. You and I must be WILLING to be more patient. God knows you can be patient even when you don’t think you can last much longer.

Relationship Test

One of the biggest tests you can ever face is your relationships. People are in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. Each relationship can have a test from God. Again you can pass the Relationship Test by choosing to respond positively. Think about how you would want to be treated and respond that way in love.

Love is at the core of all relationships. God created you to love one another. The Bible did not say to specifically love everyone, but instead to love ONE another. In other words, I believe God wants us to love each person in a very unique way. When you pass this one from God, I believe it will help you pass this next test.

Money Test

In our society today, money can play a big role in your decision making. When you pass the Money Test, you have made huge strides in becoming a faithful steward. All money belongs to God because He owns it all. Your responsibility is to steward God’s money His Way.

When you study the parables of the stewards in the Bible, you’ll find out how each steward handled the Money Test. God is the owner of money. You are the steward of money. But money is your servant. You MUST understand these truths for you to pass this life changing test. I know how much of a challenge this one test can be in our lives.

Work Test

God created you to work with Him and for Him. He knows what field of work fits you like a glove. Many times you can be tested at work. It could be the job itself or the people you working alongside. I believe the biggest test from God is to see if you are faithful in the work you are doing right now.

Do you want to be promoted? Do you want a pay raise? Be faithful right where you are. People are watching your work, but more importantly, God is the one who promotes you. He blesses the work of your hands. He gives you not only the ability to work and your job, but also the blessing. When you commit yourself to being faithful at work, you will pass this test.

There are life lessons in each of these tests. I encourage you to write down your personal life lessons you have learned from these 5 tests. Why? So you can share them with the next generation. The good news is you have passed some tests in your life otherwise you would not be where you are today. Now that you know how God does test you, why not share your Test Results with others?

What is a test from God that you passed?
