3 Reasons For Delays
September 12, 2019 5:27 pmYou might be wondering what is causing the delays in your life. You’re going to find out what a delay actually is, what can you do anything about the delays, and answers to your WHY, WHEN, and HOW questions as discover 3 reasons for delays. Let’s begin with the definition of a delay.
>>>DELAYS END WHEN YOU DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE<<<
Delay: Cause to be later or slower than expected; To postpone till a later time; Cause something to occur more slowly than normal.
Does that sound like your life right now? You’ve been waiting and waiting, but still haven’t seen what you are expecting to happen in your life as God promised. Many times we hear God say the word “SOON.” His soon and our soon are not on the same timetable, is it?
Reasons For Delays
If you are like me, I really want to know the CAUSE of things. Once you know the cause, then you can focus on what you can do to solve the problem. Before we get into 3 reasons for delays in your life, you need to realize that sometimes it’s NOT YOUR FAULT. Take a deep breath in and out right now.
What a relief. Sometimes it could be you, God, the devil, or others. What I want to share with you are 3 reasons for your delays you may not have thought of before. These “delay revelations” can cause a REVERSE in Delays for you. In other words, what you’re about to experience is one of the biggest paradigm shifts in your life. Let’s look at this first perspective of the types of delay in life.
Reason For Delays #1 – What You Pursue, Will Go In The Same Direction
God asked me if I’d ever seen a deer hunter CHASE after a deer. My answer was No because the deer would run away from the hunter. You may be wondering what this has to do with your delays. If you have been in a Delay Pattern for weeks, months, or even years, ask yourself, “Have I been chasing what God desires for me to experience?”
>>>EXPERIENCE GOD’S PRESENCE TODAY<<<
For example, if you want something or need something, is it possible you don’t believe you’ve already received it? God promises in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” This is a promise that God has given to you and He ALWAYS keeps His Word. He is our Promise Keeper and one of the things He does really well is keeping His promises. Do you believe in His promises?
Are You Believing God?
God does not want you to doubt Him. He wants you to trust Him in His Word. God is Faithful and Trustworthy. He says what He does and does what He says. God wants you to believe what He says is true whether you are experiencing it or not right now. If you are pursuing something God has ALREADY GIVEN you, then are really trusting Him and His Word?
God has promised you that He has ALREADY given you all things that pertain to life and godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) Why not believe God in His Word? Instead of running after what you already have, repent. The word repent means to turn or think differently. When you are experiencing a delay in your life, ask God if it’s because you are pursuing something you already have. Now you’re going to find out what you can do instead of wanting, needing, or “have to have” anything.
Reason For Delays #2 – What You Magnify Will Manifest
Have you ever heard someone complain about their problems year after year? Their focus is on their problems instead of God’s Promises. I want you to know just how powerful your words are. Last month the Lord told me that I will be walking into the words I am speaking. Are you speaking “delay words?”
The good news is you can change what you say by changing what you magnify in your life. Your words are MAGNIFIERS. You get to choose each day what you are going to magnify in your life. The more you magnify anything, it continues to manifest. What you feed will grow. Instead of magnifying the delays, what you can do instead is to be content and thankful for what you already have.
What Repels God’s Blessings?
God showed me that contentment, thankfulness, appreciation, and gratitude are all attractive. But NOT being content, thankful, appreciative, or grateful REPELS what God desires for you. Ponder that for a moment. Things are either coming into your life or being delayed because of you either being thankful or not. Do you know one thing that will repel God’s blessings?
Complaining about the delay can stop what you desire to happen in your life. Complaining and griping about your situation is also repulsive. Do you enjoy hearing others complain and gripe? How do you think God feels about it? So be intentional from now on being content at all times. 1 Timothy 6:6 reveals to you a KEY to your breakthrough, “Now godliness with contentment is great gain.” Just like complaining is a choice so is being content, true?
Reasons For Delays #3 – Doing It Your Way Instead Of God’s Way
The three words I’ve heard from the Lord this year more than any other words are…”FOLLOW MY LEAD.” Sounds like God doesn’t it? If you truly want to follow His lead, then take Jesus’ advice in Mark 8:34, “If anyone wants to follow after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.” This is a choice you need to make on a daily basis. It’s possible what has caused delays in your life is you wanting to do it your way. We can say we want to follow Him, but are we willing to deny ourselves?
The Lord showed me the more we obey Him, the less our will is going to come to pass. He also asked me to take the first three letters and the last three letters off of the word OBEDIENCE. What do you see?
DIE.
Obedience Is Key
The more we obey God, the more we die to self. Either more of God’s will is coming to pass in your life or your will. It’s your choice. You will not be able to do this on your own. You must ask God for help and also ask others to keep you accountable to help you tremendously.
If God wants us to succeed by ourselves, we will not need others in our lives. You have someone in your life right now who can help you with accountability. You can ask them to check in on you to see if you are obeying God or still living the life you want.

So trust God instead of pursuing what He has promised you. Be intentional in being content, thankful, appreciative, and grateful instead of magnifying your delays. Finally, commit to following God’s lead instead of doing it your way from now on.
