My Life Lessons From 2019
December 17, 2019 5:54 pmWould you like to know my life lessons I learned from 2019? Some of these lessons I wish I would have learned a long time ago. When you apply what you learn from my life lessons from 2019, your life will be changed.
1. Value Myself
Recently a friend of mine gave me a book by Keith Farrante called “Unlocking an Abundant Mindset.” When you read this book, you will understand just how important it is to value yourself.
Keith shared a definition of poverty that will help you know if you value yourself or not. He said that poverty is a lack of understanding your value. When I read this, I asked myself the question…
“Do I value myself?”
Unfortunately my answer was no. Why? Because I simply did not know my true value in Christ. So I began to focus on valuing myself. After two days the Lord said to me, “Why don’t you start by valuing Me?”
If you think about it, doesn’t value really come from God? Of course it does. So He began to share with me how He values Himself. Once I knew His value, then I could value myself.
Since our true value comes from God, then we need to believe the truth of just how priceless we are in God’s eyes. So I decided to create a definition of prosperity based on Keith’s definition of poverty.
Prosperity is the abundance of understanding of your value.
You see when you understand God’s value of Himself and you, then you can start to accept yourself as priceless, valuable and worthy. When you begin to value yourself, then you will begin to value others. Its not until you value yourself where you will see a difference in others truly valuing you.
2. Not Putting Expectations On Others
This was one of the most liberating lessons I learned in 2019 from the Lord. In the past, He mentioned it before, but now I GOT IT. I hope you get it too.
God showed me when I put an expectation on someone to do something for me, I am setting myself up for disappointment. Have you ever done that before? It can be painful.
So God showed me when I do not put an expectation on someone that it frees them to be who they are. For example, if I expect someone to respond to me or thank me for something I did for them, I am now in a position to be disappointed. No one really wants to disappoint us do they?
This lesson also showed me to totally rely on God as my SOURCE for EVERYTHING.
Instead of depending upon others to provide something for me, I now accept the truth that God is my ONLY Provider. You may know that God is our Provider, but do you act that way? Or do you put expectations on others to provide something that only God can give you?
This lesson also freed me up to totally depend upon God. Instead of looking at others, work, money or even myself as provider, I am not focused on the ONE and ONLY Provider.
So now I am free to bless, give and serve others without expecting anything in return from them. When you apply this lesson, you too will experience that freedom and liberty in your life.
3. Letting Go Is Better Than Holding On
This can be one of the most liberating lessons you’ll ever learn. God showed me that we can hold onto things in our hearts that we need to let go of. The good news is God can show you what you’ve been holding onto that you need to release.
It really does start with asking the Lord what you are holding onto. It could be judgement, resentment, offense, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc. God knows WHY you are not experiencing a liberating, free life yet. Its because there needs to be a RELEASE.
In 1 Peter 5:7 in the Passion Translation, God tells you, ” Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” If you do NOT cast them unto the Lord, then you are choosing to keep them. My question is, “Why would you hold onto something God wants you to let go of?”
There is healing and freedom when you choose to let go of unforgiveness and judgment. Since I have been releasing what I’ve held onto I’ve experienced such a quietness and peace in my soul. Is that what you want too?
Here is an example of what that can look like for you? Say out loud:
“I choose to let go of the disappointments in my life where I made foolish mistakes. So I release and let go of these disappointments in Jesus name. Amen.”
What can you expect to happen?
Personally I have felt a big deep breathe come out. So don’t be surprised when you say this out loud, that you may experience a deep breathe or moaning. That simply means you have been holding onto something God wants you to let go of.
Application Time
Now its up to you to apply these three life lessons I shared with you. These lessons will do you no good unless you apply them in your life. What I teach to my students in my Group Coaching Program is:
The Secret to Learning is application, application, application.
Hopefully my life lessons for 2019 have inspired you to apply them in your life too.
Which of these three lessons encouraged you the most?

Valuing myself. This is been a problem for me my whole life. When you used the word priceless in God’s eyes, that kind of woke me up. God sees me as priceless. I need to see myself as priceless.
Valuing myself was a biggie for me too. Imagine when you value yourself the way God does. Ask God to help with that. Since your value comes from Him and He is the most valuable, priceless and worthy one there is, then you can receive His security. Also ask God to show how He sees you as priceless, OK?
