How To Open Your Heart To God’s Surprises Today
July 24, 2023 2:49 pmWhen was the last time God surprised you? Think about that for a moment. (If you can’t remember, ask God) 😄 You are going to understand how to open your heart to God’s surprises today and every day from now on.
The definition of surprise is: to cause to feel wonder, astonishment, or amazement, at something unanticipated. Now do you remember the last time God surprised you?
The reason He wants you to remember is that you are about to experience SO MANY God’s surprises in your life. In fact, they’re going to start happening very soon.
When you know ahead of time that something is going to happen, what do you do?
You get PREPARED.
How you can get prepared for God’s Surprises?
That’s Easy!
Start right now by giving Him thanks and praise. In Psalm 100:4 it says, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.”
You need to notice a three-letter word in that verse that is so powerful. Do you see it? There is only one three-letter word there. It’s AND.
Why would that be such a powerful word?
Because it’s like ADDING to what was previously written. You GET TO thank God AND you GET TO praise Him. Why would God use the word “and”?
He knows there is power in thanksgiving AND praise. Look at them as POWER TWINS from now on.
A few years ago, the Lord told me a phrase I had never heard before.
“A Scripture Sandwich”
I asked Him what He meant by that. He told me He likes it when the “meat” of the sandwich is His Scriptures.
You might be curious what the “bread” is of the sandwich. He told me it was Thanksgiving and Praise.
Do you want a few examples?
“Lord, thank You by Jesus’ stripes I am healed. Alleluia.”
“Lord, thank You that Christ in me my hope of glory. Praise You, Lord.”
You know how powerful thanksgiving is and you know God inhabits the praise of His people. There is something so powerful that happens in the spirit realm when you do this and you can expect a change to take place.
When God is speaking prophetically of something that HE KNOWS is going to happen, He wants you to be expectant. Giving Him thanksgiving and praise releases faith in your situation.
A God Surprise Prayer
Whenever I have coaching calls with my students, I always pray to the Lord for an Ephesians 3:20 call.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think according to the power that works in us.”
EVERY TIME I have prayed that prayer, guess what happened?
The Lord SURPRISED us with such amazing coaching sessions.
If you want to experience Ephesians 3:20 days, what prayer should you pray?
The more you pray Ephesians 3:20 prayers, you can expect God to surprise you because He is doing exceedingly, abundantly above all you ask or think.
Today’s Surprise
This afternoon during one of my coaching calls, I told my student that I have NO IDEA what the Lord wants to write in the Newsletter UNTIL I start typing.
I received a SURPRISE from the Lord I did not see coming at all.
For those of you who have subscribed to this Encouraging Newsletter over the past few years, you may have noticed that I have not asked you to become a monthly partner or to make a donation.
Why is that?
The Lord told me to GIVE you the opportunity to give each week, but not to ask UNTIL today.
That is my God Surprise.
If you have been blessed by our weekly encouragement, monthly prophetic words, and life-changing teachings through our newsletter as well as on Social Media and our website, would you ask the Lord if He is leading you to give to A Transforming Word Ministries?
Thank you!
You can GIVE HERE.
Now that you know how to open your heart to God’s Surprises today, what are you expecting from God?
